The constant small wonders you’ll see along the way will surely be more than enough to satisfy any adventure itch. You kinda just have to see it for yourself in many of these. Summary

  • P2P : Atresia NM to Valley of Fires NM
  • Distance : 220 miles / 355 kms
  • Best Season : Late spring or early fall
  • Pack for : Hot temperatures and mild winds. Bring sunscreen and extra water. Mild Sandstorms near Alamogordo are common.
  • Plan for : GPS will say this is a 3.5 hour route, you should probably plan to take at least 6 hours of drive time to allow for stops and pictures along the way.
