Seems like a decent monochrome / documentary style lens. Your black and white edits look like they’re using a red filter in them? Are they? If not maybe the lens is acting as a red filter itself and this may play into your contrast issues. See if you get more contrast with sky and open landscape shots. The monochrome architecture shots were really nice.
