I am also a "Canon guy" by origin, and my professional photo camera is a Canon R6....but my "personal" cameras sorta sit on either side of your M8.

I have the 6mpx CCD Epson RD1, which technically beat Leica to the punch for first digital rangefinder...and I adore that camera, especially for color.

On the other side, I have the 24mpx CMOS Leica M246 Monochrom.

I considered the M8 many times before I bought either rangefinder.

I'm interested in how the 1.3x crop has affected your lens choice, as it's not the "standard" 1.5x crop most people are familiar with in APS-C cameras.
