My favorite street photography / POV combo, but probably not my first recommendation for a daily camera setup.

I first published this article “way back” in February 2020. I have recently reviewed it and decided it needed some major re-works and updates. This is the updated version.

I’ve picked out my top 6 tips I wish I knew before buying my first camera (and many other cameras).

My adventurous steps in upgrading and trading around different bodies/brands below:

  1. My first camera was a Nikon point-and-shoot.
  2. Then I upgraded a crop sensor Canon DSLR,
  3. Afterwards returning to Nikon with a full frame DSLR
  4. Then trying out mirrorless with a crop sensor Sony
  5. Then diving more into Sony with their full frame camera
  6. And back to Canon…and then I added another Canon,
  7. I’ve recently (as of 2021) picked up a Ricoh GRiii point-and-shoot for street photography.

The list in the last 3 years has now expanded to trying out a different Ricoh, a Fuji, three Leicas, and a vintage Epson from 2004. More on all of that in a future post.

I jumped around alot, as the list below…
